Literal evidence states

A label never upgrades itself.

Research-led: A source record supports the guide while no first-hand observation or test is claimed.
Observed: A named observation record exists with scope, date and limits. The label applies only to what was observed.
Measured case: A defined fixture or room has recorded dimensions, assets and case limits.
Physically tested: A documented protocol, performed date, result and failure record support the tested claim.

Source hierarchy

Use the narrowest source that can support the claim.

Government and safety authorities for applicable public guidance.
University extension and specialist public bodies for scoped practical guidance.
Exact manufacturer instructions for model dimensions, operation and installation.
Editorial synthesis for planning sequences and fit decisions.

Jurisdiction and model scope stay attached to the source. Manufacturer material does not become independent proof that one format is superior.

Measurement Bench

Mode follows the available record.

A planning checklist can organise source synthesis without claiming that the steps were performed. Observed, measured-case and physically-tested modes require their own dated records, responsible contributor and stated limits before those labels can appear.

AI assistance

Generated material carries no automatic authority.

AI may assist with structure or wording. It does not create a source, reviewer, observation or test record. Generated concept illustrations receive zero evidence weight and stay visibly labelled.

Substantive updates

Change dates belong to changed guidance.

A substantive update is recorded when measurements, source scope, safety guidance or conclusions change. Spelling and layout fixes do not create a new editorial date. A reviewer is named only when a verified reviewer record exists.
